The Root of the Quest (The Wildsea) run by Arnold Cassell

The world is covered in a verdant explosion, where life and landscape change frequently. There are pockets of precious land here and there, and most would be happy to work out a living there.

But wildsailors choose instead to drive ships across the treetop sea, trading, adventuring, salvaging, and exploring. The crew of the Equis was doing just that, when they encountered a plague that has learned how to count.

They may upturn all corners of the map, from the star-drenched skies, to the sun-starved deep below, to find their answers, but it might be what they were born to do.

Roguelike* role-playing (Abstract Dungeon) run by Kevin McIntyre

Together we will use various random tools* to co-create a setting, develop plot seeds, construct a party history, and go on a few adventures. Tone will generally be light-hearted 'yes, and' silliness.

Tools will include Rory's story dice, The Story Engine: Deck of Worlds, Quest Decks, Backstory Cards, Abstract Dungeon, player creativity & inspiration.

So Say the Witches of Hollowmere House (Kingdom) run by Michael

"In Kingdom, we can work together to do great things. But we may not agree what path our Kingdom should take or what it should stand for. Can everybody get what they want? Because if you’re part of the Kingdom, it makes demands on you too. You’re pressured to do what it thinks is right. The question becomes: do you change the Kingdom or does the Kingdom change you?

Long before this riverside trade town was even a few fishermen's shacks, there were the Witches of Hollowmere House. A venerable coven renowned for our alchemy and sigils - feared for our ancient treaties with those that dwell in the lake. Yet today the House is challenged on all sides, opportunists within and without seeking forbidden knowledge for profit and power. Can we hold strong to our sorcerous legacy or will we fall under the industrious yoke of history?

Inspirations: Hades II by Supergiant games, City of Last Chances by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Roadwarden by Moral Anxiety Studio"

a|state (Forged in the Dark) run by Joe Beason

Step inside the baroque urban nightmare of The City, a dystopian, weird science expanse of flooding canals, broken buildings, and weary people. Your alliance has come together to defend your corner from selfish authorities, angry gangs, and heartless industries, and to deal with the spiraling consequences of your own actions as you struggle for a better tomorrow.

NightMirror: Gothic Horror TTRPG (A Psi*Run variant that uses tarrot cards instead of dice) run by David Miessler-Kubanek

The death of someone close to you spurs you to action! Play Victorian Era-inspired people who are searching for humanity and salvation through monsters and madness in this Gothic horror ttrpg. Note: Inspirations include the Penny Dreadful TV series and related literature. We may also take cues from the house in which we play to help shape our story.

Not All Treasure is Silver and Gold (Fight With Spirit) run by Blake S.

"Batten down the hatches! Lace up those skates and get ready to lower the boom. Your crew has made it to the quarter finals of the Free Seas Roller Derby Tournament. Will you make it all the way this year and secure your ship's fame among the seas? Will the crew stick together or mutiny the coach? Explore the relationships between teammates and rivals as they strive to get better and secure that championship in this sports drama ttrpg.

We'll create pirates that also play roller derby when they're not looting and pillaging, as well as the ship they sail, and this crazy world. Knowledge of the sport of roller derby is not necessary beforehand."

Mythic Bastionland run by Jon C.

On cold misten hills, beasts witsome and fell
Knights render these myths awrenched from their veils
For the oath, for the glory, through sorrow and ache
The City, that quest to which no knight can make

Adventure as passionate, emotional knights inspired by stories of courtly love. Our knights hold hands with friends, weep over beauty, compose or recite poetry at the drop of a hat, and carry on devoted mutual relationships so close that scholars are still debating whether or not they were fucking.

As chivalrous heroes the knights hexcrawl across the map to uphold their oaths to Seek the Myths, Honor the Seers, and Protect the Realm. Alas, the Referee will put the practical application of those oaths into conflict with one another. Fie upon that blackguard! In play we’ll discover which promises your knight would to die to uphold.

This OSR-style game fundamentally rejects balance and invites us to create a story by embracing wild gaps in power level. The fact that any knight can die a sudden abject death challenges some storygame norms. When the dice aren’t on your side, we can strive for an under-powered or unexpectedly dead character to be story fodder. Likewise, if your knight finds a magic sword they are probably the most lethal character in the realm.

There is no plot that we don’t discover together. As a design, the game uses roll tables to generate impossible landscapes, inexplicable magicks, and dreamlike events. It outright refuses to provide an answer to all mysteries or explain a magic system. Thus this game doesn’t produce a particularly coherent narrative unless we make it do so. Regard all of this as a gauntlet thrown to us the players: Do we have the skill and commitment to wring a story out of this fantasy weirdness? Let’s play to find out.

Game-Specific Practical Consideration:
N95 respirators or better are required for everyone in this Mythic Bastionland game’s assigned room. The Referee will bring plenty of N95s to share a HEPA filter for the room. People can certainly unmask while eating/drinking in the room, or choose to take meals elsewhere in the venue where MinnLoCo’s default covid policy applies.
